The Health of a Maltese Dog
The Maltese is considered to be a generally healthy breed. They are, however, susceptible genetic eye disorders, collapsing tracheas, liver shunts, hypoglycemia, skin allergies, teeth and gum weaknesses, Slipped Stifle (condition which occurs when the knee-like joint above the hock in the hind leg of a dog slips and may require surgery), and white shaker dog syndrome (disease that causes the dog to have full body tremors, most common in West Highland White Terriers, Bolognese and Poodles as well). Please note that these are all generalizations for the breed. Individuals may vary. Just keep these in mind and take your beloved dog to the vet regularly.

Avoid unnecessary vet bills! Do your dog’s basic health check!
Why spend money on vet bills, if you can do it too?
